Only Handmade

I love God and crocheting...
I began crocheting at the age of 16 after a major tragedy. At the age of 11 I left Guyana to come to the Houston, Texas. Everynight my big brother and I would recall the memories from home. At the age of 16 my brother suffered a major stroke from Sickle Cell Anemia and was unable to walk and talk. To deal with the stress I taught myself crochet from a book and I've been crocheting ever since.

In high school it took me a month to make a baby blanket but now it only takes 1 day. My favorite thing to make is clothes; not sure if it's because nothing fit me when I was growing up or because I love looking different from everyone else. I hoped to design my own clothes one day but I can't sew. I'm really glad God showed me another way to design clothes through the art of crochet.

In 2017, I picked up my crochet hook to make myself a blanket and I've been getting orders since. I'm just blessed to be able to do what I love and share it with the world.

Some of my goals for the summer include yarn spinning, yarn dyeing, exploring fiber arts in different cultures and learning new styles of crocheting.
